How to Use AI Video on Your Shopify Product Pages

Product pages with video convert better. Here is how to generate and embed professional AI videos on your Shopify store in under 10 minutes using URL import.

Putting a video on a product page is easy. Putting it somewhere it helps, without costing you more in load time than it gains in confidence, is the part worth thinking about.

Where it goes

In the gallery, among the images. This is the default and usually the right answer. The shopper is already looking there, and the video reads as another view of the product rather than as a marketing interruption.

Below the fold, near the specifications, for anything that needs demonstrating rather than showing. A mechanism, an assembly, a comparison.

Not autoplaying above everything else. A video that pushes the price and the add-to-cart button off a phone screen is a video that costs you the sale it was supposed to help.

The speed problem, which is the real one

Shopify themes handle video very differently, and a badly implemented one is a genuine liability. Page speed affects both conversion and ranking, and it does so on every visit, while the video only helps the visits where the shopper was hesitating.

Two rules that keep you safe:

  • Use a poster image and load the video on interaction, or lazy-load it if it sits below the fold. The visitor who never scrolls should never download it.
  • Test on a phone on a mediocre connection, not on your desktop. That is where your traffic actually is, and it is where a two-second regression shows up.

Your theme's documentation is the authority on how yours behaves. Check before rolling a video block out across every product template.

Muted, with the meaning visible

Autoplay must be muted; a page that makes noise unprompted loses more visitors than it keeps. That means the video has to work silently, so anything essential should be visible rather than narrated.

What to put in it

The hesitation, not the description. The description is already on the page. What a photograph leaves unresolved is scale, texture and mechanism, and that is what the video should spend its seconds on.

Reading your own returns is the fastest way to find out which of the three applies to a given product.

Generating it

Paste the Shopify product URL. Nothing is installed on your store and no permissions are granted; the importer reads the public page. The AI plans the ad, hook, benefit, call to action, then renders it, and you download a standard MP4.

Choose 1:1 or 4:5 for a product gallery, since a square holds more of a phone screen than a landscape crop. Generate 9:16 separately if the same product is going into Reels or TikTok; cropping puts the product behind the interface.

Files are 720p by default, 1080p on the premium models. The €5 entry offer produces one short clip of about 12 seconds so you can see the result on one of your own products.

Measuring it honestly

Pick one product, record conversion rate for a full cycle, add the video, change nothing else, and measure the same window again. Compare conversion rate rather than revenue, because revenue moves with traffic.

Roll out across the catalogue only after that first product has told you something. Doing all two hundred first is the most expensive way to discover that the format does not suit your category.
